CAMP GEN EMILIO AGUINALDO, Quezon City (DWDD) – The National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP) formally opened the 54th Regular Course of the Master in National Security Administration (MNSA) program on Monday, October 1.
RC 54 brings together 65 scholars. There are 25 senior officers from the Philippine Army (PA), 5 from the Philippine Navy (PN), 9 from the Philippine Air Force (PAF), and 3 from the Technical and Administrative Services (TAS). Thirteen scholars represent civilian government agencies while three represent the private sector.
RC 54 also includes 7 international students from Bangladesh, China, India, Malaysia, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan.
“The NDCP is pleased to welcome to the MNSA program the first scholar from China,” said NDCP President RAdm Roberto Q Estioko AFP (Ret) PhD MNSA.
International scholars were admitted to the MNSA program since 2001.
The opening ceremony was held at the NDCP Honor Hall inside Camp Gen Emilio Aguinaldo.
In his remarks, RAdm Estioko encouraged the scholars to be strategic leaders, develop close ties with their classmates and to endeavor to give their best in the MNSA program.
The MNSA is a one-year full-time government-funded graduate program consisting of 39 units earned through various forms of lectures, thesis writing, as well as local and foreign field studies. Guided by a holistic approach to national security and development, with emphasis on resource management, the NDCP follows a curriculum that integrates the political, economic, socio-cultural, techno-scientific, environmental, and military dimensions of national security. The program also includes modules on leadership, national security administration, and global security and cooperation.
The MNSA is open to qualified military officers, civilian government officials, and private sector leaders. Civilian graduates have the privilege of being commissioned Lieutenant Colonels or Commanders in the Reserve Force of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Aside from the NDCP officials and staff, the event was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, AFP senior officials, representatives from various government agencies and the private sector as well as members of the preceding class, MNSA RC 53. NDCP / MCAG
