CITY OF CALAPAN — A member of Army’s militia unit was shot and killed by a sniper believed to be member of the New People’s Army (NPA) at a Cafgu Active Auxiliary Detachment in Bulalacao town in Oriental Mindoro province Saturday, police said.

Domingo Berber instantly died from a bulletin wound when he was attacked at about 8:30 a.m. at his detachment in Sitio (sub-village) Cambayang, Barangay (village) Cabugao, Supt. Imelda Tolentino, Mimaropa police information officer, said citing a military spot report.

She said Berber was shot by a sniper believed to be a member the communist terrorist group.


The victim sustained a bullet wound on his right chest which caused his instantaneous death.
