From the Philippine News Agency (Jan 26): Soldier survives shooting in Zamboanga Sibugay

A soldier survived although wounded in a shooting incident in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Friday.

Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) information officer, identified the victim as Corporal Abdula Amada, who is assigned with the Army’s 102nd Infantry Brigade.

Galvez said Amada was shot and wounded at around 10:15 a.m. Thursday in Barangay Poblacion Muslim, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Galvez said Amada was driving his motorcycle and had just arrived in Barangay Poblacion Muslim when repeatedly shot by one of two men riding in tandem on another motorcycle that tailed the victim.

She said Amada was hospitalized while investigation continues in a bid to establish the identities of the suspects behind the incident.
