PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan (DWDD) – The City Government of Puerto Princesa through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), in collaboration with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Western Command (WESCOM) successfully conducted the Comprehensive Local Integration Program (CLIP) Awarding to seven (7) former rebels composed of six (6) males and one (1) female held on January 05, 2018 at Puerto Princesa City Hall.



The seven former rebels from the terrorist New People’s Army (NPA) received financial assistance from CLIP for their livelihood assistance, services and support. Each CLIP beneficiary availed a total amount of Sixty five thousand pesos (P 65,000.00), alienated as Php50,000 for livelihood assistance and Php15,000 as immediate assistance.

At the beginning of year 2018, the immediate rise of NPA surrenders in Palawan shows the local government’s earnestness and partnership with WESCOM in attaining peace and order through the implementation of CLIP for reconciliation and reintegration into the society. This is also a manifestation of their desire and hope for new beginnings and a better future. WESCOM/MCAG
