The GPH, and MILF Coordinating Committee on Cessation of Hostilities (CCCH), and the International Monitoring Team (IMT) held their 46th Executive Meeting, and 25th Tripartite Meeting on November 30-December 01, 2017 at Marco Polo Hotel, Davao City.
In his remarks during the event’s closing ceremony, Usec. Nabil Tan, who is also the Chair of the GPH Peace Implementing Panel underscored the key role of the Coordinating Committee on the Cessation of Hostilities (CCCH), and the International Monitoring Team (IMT) in monitoring the implementation of the ceasefire, and other existing peace mechanisms between the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and Government of the Philippines, Rappler said in its report.

“The CCCH has gone a long way in terms of partnering with each other ... developing mutual trust and respect [between both parties] ... persevering in the face of challenges,” USec Tan said.

“The Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) would not have been possible without your strong support,” the deputy peace adviser said, as he lauded the MILF for its unwavering commitment to the peace process. “The MILF has exhibited its commitment to maintaining the peace in the proposed Bangsamoro.”

Tan cited the crucial role of the MILF in the successful implementation of the Peace Corridor initiative, which helped save the lives of hundreds of civilians during the Marawi crisis. “There is, therefore a need to strengthen and build more trust. “We must continue to cultivate this relationships,” he said.

He also reaffirmed President Rodrigo Duterte’s commitment in pushing for the passage of the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL). “The President said that there is a need to be inclusive ... to have respect for the rights of all- Muslims, Lumads and Christians,” he noted. (Source: Rappler)
