President Rodrigo Duterte appointed newly retired Philippine Army chief Glorioso Miranda to the board of the Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA).

He is the latest in the growing list of former military officers in the Duterte administration.

Duterte announced the appointment during the Philippine Army change of command ceremony on Thursday, October 5.

Miranda served as acting chief of the Philippine Army for 10 months. He stepped down after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 56.

Miranda belongs to the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1983. He is the classmate of Armed Forces chief General Eduardo Año, who is also expected to join the Department of the Interior and Local Government after he steps down later in the month.

Miranda is replaced in the Army by Major General Rolando Bautista, the chief of the 1st Infantry Division and ground commander in Marawi.
