Military C-130 transport aircraft being operated by 220th Airlift Wing (220AW) of Philippine Air Force (PAF) conducted an aero medical evacuation mission for about thirty military patients who sustained wounds from the ongoing battle in Marawi City, 220AW said.

The military aircraft left Laguindingan Airport at 10:30 pm on July 20 and landed at Villamor Air Base, Pasay City past 1 am of July 21.

Wounded soldiers were then transported to Air Force General Hospital and Armed Force of the Philippines Medical Center to undergo specialized medical treatment.

“This sortie was the last of all scheduled itineraries that started as early as 6 am – from troops relieving, reinforcements, and airlift of heavy equipment – to some areas in Mindanao,” 220AW said.

Air Force medical professionals, also known as S-7 team is monitoring the health condition and provides critical care for wounded soldiers during aero-medical procedures.
