AFP conducts bomb drill to test HSC response time

From the Philippine News Agency (Jul 7): AFP conducts bomb drill to test HSC response time

In line with efforts to beef up its security, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) conducted a bomb drill aimed at testing the response capability of the Headquarters Service Command (HSC), the unit tasked to guard the facility.

This was bared by AFP public affairs office chief Col. Edgard Arevalo in a statement Friday.

The drill was spearheaded by the Inspector General, AFP head Major Gen. Rafael Valenecia.

"Near-life scenarios were injected to test the security preparedness and readiness response of HSC as part of the Annual General Inspection (AGI) conducted on the unit by TIG, AFP," Arevalo said.

He said the HSC performed satisfactorily during the drill.

"There were some findings noted nonetheless on how to further improve camp defense and security. And these are what the unit will have to address within 15 days after the Commander, HSC Army Colonel Dominique Pulido was notified of the AGI Findings," the AFP official added.

The TIG, AFP is the office in charge to determine whether or not AFP units comply to established standards and drafts policy recommendations to AFP chief-of-staff Gen. Eduardo Año regarding the AGI findings.
