From the Philippine News Agency (Mar 16): Troops helping Kitcharao LGU in providing aid to civilians displaced by NPA attacks

Military units are now helping the local government of Kitcharao in Agusan del Norte in aiding 89 families displaced by three unprovoked New People's Army (NPA) attacks on Barangay Hinimbangan last March 15.

In a statement, 2nd Lt. Ashley Mae Del Rosario, 29th Infantry Battalion civil-military operations officer, said the rebels decided to attack the said community are hosting troops conducting development support and security operations in the locality.

The attacks forced 89 families or around 357 individuals to evacuate and seek shelter at the gymnasium of Barangay Crossing, Kitcharao.

29th Infantry Battalion soldiers are coordinating with the town's officials to address the basic needs of the displaced families in the area.
