From The Standard (Dec 22): Blast hits Shariff Aguak in Maguindanao
An explosion hit Barangay Satan, Shariff Aguak in Maguindanao on Thursday morning.
This happened just moments after a military vehicle carrying personnel from the 61st Division Reconnaissance Company of the Philippine Marines was passing by at 7:15 am.
The Army’s First Mechanized Battalion Commander Lauro Oliveros said, the blast was triggered by an improvised explosive device (IED).
An investigation is ongoing to determine who planted the IED in the area.
Clearing operations were conducted by authorities for an hour before the road was once again opened to motorists.
