From the Philippine News Agency (Dec 12): 259 police officials get higher ranks from NAPOLCOM
About 259 senior police officials got higher ranks from the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) for passing the pre-requisite phases of the Police Executive Service Eligibility (PESE) exams, Department of Interior and Local Government official announced on Monday.
DILG Undersecretary for Police Matters Catalino Cuy, who represented DILG secretary Ismael Sueno on the 10th year of PESE conferment rites, said the moral excellence vested by the police officials was a manifestation of their devotion to help President Rodrigo Duterte win his war against criminality and illegal drugs.
“Our country is in dire need of your continued manifestation of integrity, devotion to duty and commitment to professional competence in upholding the safety of our people and maintaining peace and order throughout the country,” he said.
Cuy also said the Commission would continue push policies and programs that guide the Philippine National Police (PNP) in their goal of becoming highly professionalized, dedicated and committed public servants.
He also commended PESE’s 2016 topnotcher, Police Superintendent Wildemar Tan Tiu for his consistent dedication on police service.
The 259 police officials conferred the third level position from Senior Superintendent up to Director General.
Meanwhile, NAPOLCOM Vice-Chairman Rogelio T. Casurao said that the 259 passers represent 90.56 percent of the 286 police officials who underwent the final phase of the PES eligibility process.
The 10th PESE conferment rites, held at DILG-NAPOLCOM Center, Quezon City on Monday, were graced by NAPOLCOM, PNP and DILG representatives.
