The Center for Agriculture and Rural Development Mutually
Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI) announced Saturday the new scholarship
grant through CARD Scholarship Program (CSP) for children of CARD MRI clients
who will study or studying at the Philippine Military Academy (PMA), Philippine
National Police Academy (PNPA) and Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA)
starting this school year.
Dr. Jaime Aristotle B. Alip Ph. D., founder and managing
director ofCARD MRI said the scholarship program of the institution prioritized
scholars taking up business and communication courses for assured employment to
the institutions but this time the program is open to any course a student may
take including those who want to serve the military, police and maritime.
“To support more CARD members, we are now extending our
scholarship grants to those who want to enter PMA, PNPA and PMMA. This is part
of our program called “One Family, One Graduate” wherein we want one from every
socio-economically challenged family to graduate in college,” said Alip.
“This time there is no limit for the scholars in choosing
the course they want. We hope that this will help in decreasing dropout rates
here in our country,” he added.
Like other CSP scholars, applicants studying or will study
in the three identified schools will receive Php 12,000 per year for a maximum
of four years if they will be part of the annual scholarship grantees.
To date, 2,339 have graduated out of 7,549 educational
scholarship grantees and after 30 years since it was founded CARD MRI has
reached 3,605,929 clients benefiting from its programs and services.
