The Department of Health (DOH) will donate two units of
mobile dental vehicles (MDV) and 100 sets of beds and mattresses to the Fort Bonifacio ,
Taguig-based Army General Hospital (AGH) on July 11.
The medical equipment will be received by Philippine Army
(PA) commanding general, Lt. Gen. Eduardo M. Año, from DOH Secretary Paulyn
Jean Rosell-Ubial after the flag- raising ceremony.
Army spokesperson Col. Benjamin Hao said the ceremonial
turnover would be followed by the signing of the Deed of Donation and blessing
of the new equipment.
“The medical equipment will help enhance the Army’s hospital
capability and boost the morale of the Army personnel and dependents who are
recipients of health care services provided by AGH,” Hao said.
The 200-bed AGH is capable of performing diagnostic,
surgical and treatment procedures to emergency cases, confined patients and
ambulatory clients seeking consultative services of orthopedics, urology,
ophthalmology, physical medicine, neuro-psychiatry and dental services.
Hao said the donation was made possible through the Army’s
continuous engagement with various key stakeholders as embodied in the Army
Transformation Roadmap's and Armed Forces of the Philippines ' Internal Peace and
Security Plan Bayanihan.
