DAVAO CITY -- (UPDATED) Presumptive president Rodrigo Duterte on Sunday met with former police chiefs of Davao City Police Office at the Hotel Elena in Davao City.

Among those who had a casual dinner meeting with Duterte were S/Supt. Rene Aspera, C/Supt. Ramon Apolinario and C/Supt. Ronald Dela Rosa, who is reportedly being groomed by Duterte to replace Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Director General Ricardo Marquez, who will be handing in his courtesy resignation.

Also present in the meeting was Brigadier General Ricardo Visaya.

The meeting comes before Duterte starts receiving well-wishers, including foreign dignitaries and members of the diplomatic corps, in Davao City on Monday.

The 71-year-old Duterte earlier announced that he will be going on a retreat in a farm somewhere in Davao before meeting with well-wishers.

Meanwhile, Duterte's son, Paolo, and his wife, January, will be filing charges against Perfecto Tagalog of the Coalition of Filipino Consumers.

Tagalog accused the eldest Duterte child and his wife of being involved in rice smuggling.

In a press conference, January denied the allegations, adding that they are now working on the legal actions they will take against Tagalog.

"Now that the election is over, we have decided to take action against Mr. Tagalog and all those who are in conspiracy with him. In recent days we have been constantly working with our lawyers to prepare cases which we may possibly file against him and his co-conspirators. I will seek justice for my family," January said.
