Bomb goes off in Lamitan; no injuries reported

A bomb hidden on a multicab vehicle went off in front of the Evangelical Church along Flores Street in Lamitan City on Friday but no injuries were reported.

Senior Insp. Gean Gallardo of the Lamitan City Police said military and police units responded to the incident and investigation was still being conducted.

Gallardo said the site of the 8:25 p.m. blast had already been secured.

He said explosives experts were “processing” the blast site.

Lamitan City Vice Mayor Roderick Furigay said there was a second explosion and authorities suspected that there could be a third bomb.
