Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Voltaire
Gazmin was the guest-of-honor at the celebration of the 46th anniversary of the
4th Infantry Division in Cagayan de Oro City on Monday.
Celebration ceremonies took place at Camp Evangelista
Gazmin was welcomed by 4th Infantry Division commander Major
Gen. Oscar T. Lactao.
The DND chief spearheaded the giving of awards and citations
to outstanding military and civilian personnel of the unit.
Gazmin also lauded all 4th Infantry Division personnel for
their dedication in the pursuit of “bayanihan” in winning the peace.
He also appreciated the massive deployment of community
organizing for peace and development in the different affected areas for being
instrumental on their normalization process.
“As we commemorate our 46th Founding Anniversary, we honor
all our predecessors, the diamond troopers and the stakeholders for their
contributions in the accomplishments of the Division for the past year,"
Lactao said.
“As we continue another year of genuine and dedicated
service, I enjoin all the stakeholders and the people of Northern
Mindanao and CARAGA Region, to join us, your Army, in building a
peaceful and progressive community,” he added.
