AFP to present modern military equipment during 80th AFP founding anniversary

From the Philippine News Agency (Dec 14): AFP to present modern military equipment during 80th AFP founding anniversary

Almost, if not all newly-acquired military equipment, will be presented to the public during the 80th founding anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Dec. 21.

Ceremonies will be held first time at Clark Air Base, Angeles City, Pampanga, said AFP spokesperson Col. Restituto Padilla.

Equipment to be presented include the newly-acquired South Korean-made FA-50PHs light-interim fighter aircraft, Airbus Military C-295 medium transport, AgustaWestland AW-109 "Power" attack helicopters and the US-donated M-113A2 armored personnel carriers, among others.

All of these items were delivered this 2015.

Aside from this, newly-acquired humanitarian and assistance disaster relief equipment, military trucks and artillery pieces will also be presented.

Padilla said the presentation of these newly-acquired materiel is to show the public that all funds allocated for the AFP Modernization Program are being spent wisely and not a lip service as being claimed by some sectors.
