The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is ready to deploy
its Joint Task Group-National Capital Region (JTF-NCR) to work alongside its
police counterparts to ensure a peaceful celebration of the Christmas season.
"We are ready to deploy JTF-NCR if needed," AFP
spokesperson Col. Restituto Padilla said Thursday.
Padilla said the military is also ready to provide all
assistance it can to the Philippine National Police (PNP) even including
addressing the traffic situation.
"The AFP on the other hand stands to provide all the
assistance that the PNP may require from the AFP side including helping in
easing the traffic if we are called to do so," he added.
