PNP still conducting forensic tests on body, head of purported Malaysian ASG victim

From the Philippine News Agency (Nov 19): PNP still conducting forensic tests on body, head of purported Malaysian ASG victim

Police forensic investigators are still conducting further tests to identify the severed head and headless body, reportedly of Malaysian Bernard Ghen Ted Fen, which was found in separate locations in Sulu, respectively on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Malaysian was abducted by Abu Sayyaf Group bandits last May during a raid in Sandakan, Malaysia.

This was stressed by Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson Chief Supt. Wilben Mayor Thursday.

"At 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, police security forces in the capital town of Jolo recovered an abandoned package along Marina St., Barangay Walled City, with markings Bernard Ghen Ted Fen, containing an unidentified severed human head," he added.

And around 4:30 pm of Wednesday, a headless cadaver was recovered in Barangay Kagay, Indanan, Sulu.

"Both human remains are now being examined by the Crime Laboratory of Police Regional Office-ARMM for identification," Mayor added.

"Pending official scientific findings, at this point we cannot conclusively establish the identity of these human remains to preclude undue speculation and inaccuracy in reporting," he pointed out.
