Fortified police presence in North Cotabato public places up

From the Philippine News Agency (Sep 29): Fortified police presence in North Cotabato public places up

Policemen would be more visible in public places across North Cotabato province this week in a bid to curb criminality and swiftly respond to emergencies concerning public safety.

Sr. Supt. Alexander Tagum, provincial police director, issued an order Monday noting that 95 percent of the provincial police force should highly visible along markets, terminal, schools and highways to ensure public protection.

Personnel allowed to stay in stations include non-uniformed personnel doing clerical work, on-duty investigators and the chief of police, who is mandated to oversee police operation in his area of responsibility, Tagum’s directive stressed.

Police deployment in open places is from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily, while those assigned on night shift would take care of the peace and order for the remaining hours of the day, Tagum said.
