From the Philippine News Agency (Aug 21): Naval, military units readied for 'Ineng' onslaught

The San Fernando, La Union-based Naval Task Force 11 units have been placed under red alert status as Typhoon "Ineng" continue to threaten the Batanes-Cagayan area.

This was disclosed by Lt. (JG) Bernard Sabado Friday.

"Naval Task Force 11 is now on red alert and ready for immediate deployment. We already have disaster response teams (DRTs) prepared for immediate dispatch if needed," he said in Filipino.

Sabado added that their DRTs are under the supervision of Office of Civil Defense-Region 1.

Meanwhile, Major Emmanuel Garcia, Armed Forces of the Philippines-Information Development Group commander, said naval forces based in Sta. Ana, Cagayan has already readied two DRTs for immediate dispatch.

These teams are equipped with four vehicles and one rubber boat.
