In line with its efforts to hire quality people for its
roster, the Philippine Army (PA) on Saturday announced that it will recruit 137
new officers into its ranks by November this year.
Col. Benjamin Hao, PA spokesperson, said that two courses
will be opened on Nov. 1 at the Officer Candidate School, Training and Doctrine
Command, Philippine Army in Camp
O'Donnell , Capas, Tarlac.
Officer Candidate Course Class 47, a one-year course for college
graduates who wish to join the Army as an officer, shall be opened with 70
candidates.
On the other hand, the Officer Preparatory Course Class 65,
a six-month course for those who have already completed their Reserve Officers
Training Corps (ROTC) advanced course and probationary officer's training,
shall have 67 candidates.
Hao said the recruitment of 137 new officers is part of the
PA's efforts to complete the 274 officer quota for 2015.
Training of the two officers course started last June 22.
As a member of the PA, one can get competitive pay and
allowances, opportunities for post-graduate studies both local and abroad,
insurance and healthcare benefits, billeting and house privileges, job
security, leadership and other skills training.
