Eight people were killed and another one was wounded in what
authorities described as "rido" (clan war)-related shooting in Sulu
Tuesday afternoon.
Joint Task Group Sulu commander Brig. Gen. Alan Arrojado
said the firefight took place at Barangay Pislong, Siasi town.
Arrojado said initial investigations indicated the family
members of one Alam Sayadi fired at the group of Rashid Hadjiluddin at 5:10 p.m.
The encounter between the rival clans lasted for 40 minutes
and resulted in the death of Sakili Musahari, Al-mackdil Alam, Koler Amado and
five others who remained unidentified.
Wounded in the firefight was Alam Sayadi.
All of the casualties are from the Sayadi camp, Arrojado
added.
