Demonstrating their desire to improve the lives of the
citizenry they are tasked to protect, the 903rd Infantry Brigade with the
assistance of the ABS-CBN "Sagip Kapamilya" Foundation turned over
two school buildings in Sorsogon Tuesday.
In a statement Thursday, Capt. Clint Antipala, 903rd
Infantry Brigade spokesman, said the first school building took place at
Barangay Sta. Cruz, Casiguran town, Sorsogon at 8 a.m. of June 16.
While the second transpired at 3 p.m. at Barangay Cabigaan,
Gubat town.
The 60-day construction of the two educational buildings,
which started April 20, was made possible with the assistance of the 565th
Engineering Construction Battalion who was also involved in the rehabilitation
program for the victims of typhoon “Yolanda” in Tacloban.
Also helping were "Bayanihan" teams of the 31st
Infantry Batttalion and ABS-CBN.
Each school building cost Php1,000,342. Both have two
classrooms and a comfort room.
903rd Infantry Brigade commander Col. Cesar M. Idio said,
"The whole-of-nation approach of IPSP 'Bayanihan' seeks to bring about a
concerted effort among all stakeholders towards national peace and security.
The ABS-CBN slogan 'Kapamilya' is also the Army’s advocacy."
