From the Philippine Star (Apr 14): Trooper hurt in Sulu clash
An Army trooper was wounded in an encounter with suspected Abu Sayyaf bandits in Indanan town, Sulu last Sunday.
The wounded trooper, whose name was not immediately available, was taken to a military hospital for treatment.
Army Capt. Maria Rowena Muyuela, spokesperson for the Western Mindanao Command, said the encounter between the bandits and soldiers from the 1st Scout Ranger Battalion lasted several minutes.
Muyuela said the bandits suffered casualties.
