Lt. Col. Enriqueto R. Deocadez Jr., battalion commander of
the 82nd Infantry Battalion (82IB) of the Philippine Army, said a memorandum of
agreement will be signed between the PA and the city government here during the
regular meeting of the Iloilo City Peace and Order Council (ICPOC) next month.
He explained that the agreement will serve as documentary
evidence of the peaceful condition of the city.
"We could show the document to those who are interested
to invest in the city," he added.
Meantime, he stressed that the presence of the Philippine
Army in the city is meant for development initiatives as part of their mission
under the civil military operations (CMO).
He added that they are trying to coordinate efforts of the
government to address issues that are present in villages where they are
holding civic missions.
