From ABS-CBN (Jan 30): Bomb explosion kills 1 in Basilan
One person was killed while another was seriously wounded in a bomb explosion in Barangay Limbocandis, Sumisip town in Basilan Friday morning.
According to a report, residents living near the highway heard a loud explosion at around 7 a.m.
A civilian, identified as Mannah Lakindano, died on the spot, while Supiya Abduho was wounded in the blast.
Residents believe that the improvised explosive device (IED) was placed in the area by Radzmil Jannatul, a member of the Abu Sayyaf Group.
Authorities have launched a hot pursuit operation against Radzmil.
