From Ang Malaya (Dec 12): South Korean President mentions corvette, rubber boats donataion to PHL

South Korean President Park Geun-hye, during a bilateral meeting with President Benigno Aquino III, affirmed her countries defense cooperation with Philippines.

According to Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr., President Park noted that “the Philippines initiated the acquisition of 12 FA-50 fighter aircraft, transport equipment and raw materials for the government arsenal, and is receiving a donation of a patrol combat corvette, a landing craft utility and 16 rubber boats.”

Earlier this year South Korean Defense Minister Kim Kwang-jin committed one Pohang-class corvette to Philippine Navy in form of donation. The said ship is expected to be donated with intact armament and sensors.
