Sixty three families belonging to Dumagat tribe living in
Barangay Tinucan, Tanay will have food on their table to welcome the new year
after receiving a Christmas package each Tuesday provided by the members of the
59th Protector Gwapo Battallion of the 2nd Jungle Fighter Infantry Division of
the Armed forces of the Philippines (AFP) headed by Colonel Marcelino “Kit”
Teofilo, PA Battallion commander.
Captain Ruben Ayroso, PA ,spokeperson, said that they were
able to gather funds for the project by conducting an experimental caroling
activity around the town’s business area using the services of the 59 IB Band
aboard the Philippine Army vehicle as their stage.
Ayroso also said that it was an instant street party where
the people gathered while jamming with the band members.
Ayroso said that it was a successful activity. More
successful was the giving of the package to 63 Dumagat families held in Barangay Tinucan Elementary School
led by their chieftain Anria Vertudez.
