With Typhoon "Ruby" expected to make landfall
Saturday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC)
said that 27 Navy ships and 12 military aircraft were placed on stand-by for
possible humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) missions.
All available military land mobility assets were also
alerted, the NDRRMC said in its Friday update.
These assets will be deployed to help provincial and local
disaster risk response units if needed.
