Presidential Peace Process Secretary Teresita "Ging" Deles confirmed on Thursday that the draft Bangsamoro Basic Law has been submitted to Malacanang by the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).
"As agreed upon by the parties (Philippine government and MILF peace panels), the MILF submitted the final draft of the Bangsamoro Basic Law to the Office of the Executive Secretary yesterday evening," said Deles in a statement.
Deles said President Benigno S. Aquino III will review the draft BBL and that further discussions may be held based on the guidance of the President before submitting it to Congress.
She also stated that the passage of the BBL "remains on top of the President’s legislative agenda" and the leadership of both Houses of Congress -- the Senate and the House of Representatives -- have indicated that they are prepared to work overtime to ensure the timely passage of the law.
