Outgoing AFP chief visits major command headquarters

From the Philippine News Agency (Jul 14): Outgoing AFP chief visits major command headquarters

Six days before his retirement, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief-of-staff Gen. Emmanuel T. Bautista on Monday paid a visit to Army, Navy, Air Force and Southern Luzon Command headquarters to personally say goodbye to the officers and enlisted personnel for their exemplary service.

This was disclosed by AFP public affairs office chief Lt. Col. Ramon Zagala.

"General Bautista expressed his thanks for the support all the units have extended to him during his term as AFP chief," he said.

Bautista is scheduled to retire this coming July 20.

Bautista also expressed his appreciation for all active duty personnel for helping him carry out the Internal Peace and Security Program "Bayanihan", AFP Transformation Roadmap, the successful defense of Zamboanga City during the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) siege in September and disaster relief operations during the aftermath of Supertyphoon "Yolanda" last November.

Zagala said that a testimonial parade will be extended to the outgoing AFP chief on July 18.
