Two government militiamen were killed and several others wounded when a 40mm grenade launcher round accidentally exploded inside their detachment in Masbate province Thursday.
Brigadier General Joselito Kakilala, commander of the Army’s 903rd Infantry Brigade, said the accident happened at the Tolda detachment in Mandaon town.
The two fatalities died while undergoing treatment at the Masbate Provincial Hospital.
Five of the wounded personnel were airlifted to Legazpi City in Albay for further treatment.
