The Philippine Army in Panay is not leaving anything to chance and continues to be on alert status despite the passing of the CPP-NPA's founding anniversary last March 29.
The Philippine Army 3ID Spokesman Maj. Ray Tiongson said rebels hiding in the boondocks have been confirmed by military intelligence and they should guard against any possible atrocities or ambuscades even during the Lenten Season.
No unilateral ceasefire has been declared by the government but nonetheless, the Army is prepared to execute military offensives against the insurgents should the situation calls for it.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) in the region has likewise ordered its policemen stationed in rebel-infested areas to be always on their guard as citizensprepare to observe the Holy Week.
