Gunmen shoot 3 people in Pagadian City

From the Mindanao Examiner blog site (Nov 2): Gunmen shoot 3 people in Pagadian City

Terror gripped anew the southern Philippine city of Pagadian following an attack that killed a woman and wounded her two companions.

The victim, Remedios Robesquillo, 45, a fish vendor, was shot and instantly killed by two gunmen at Purok Zone 2 in the village of Muricay. Her companions – Mohammad Dacula, 21, and Marlon Lumawan, 30, were also attacked by the gunmen with .45-caliber and 9mm pistols.

The assailants escaped after the attack and police said investigators retrieved at least 13 bullet casings in the area.

The victims just came from the Tiguma public market and on their way home when the gunmen attacked them without warning. No individual or group claimed responsibility for the latest attacks, but hired killers actively operate in Pagadian, the capital of Zamboanga del Sur and seat of the regional center in western Mindanao.

Killings and gun attacks are not uncommon here where most of the cases are unresolved.
