NPA rebels kill another suspected military informer in Sorsogon

From the Philippine News Agency (Sep 13): NPA rebels kill another suspected military informer in Sorsogon

New People’s Army (NPA) rebels killed a man in front of the residence of the village chief of Barangay Manjumlad, Matnog, Sorsogon, at about 9:30 p.m., Thursday.

Inspector Malou Calubaquid, Philippine National Police (PNP) Bicol spokesperson, identified the victim as Rey Guradian, 21, resident of Barangay Tugas of the same town.

Calubaquid said Guradian was waiting for a friend in front of the residence of barangay chairman Julio Garduque when three young men armed with .45-caliber pistols approached him and shot him in the body and head, causing his instantaneous death.

Before the suspects casually walked away, they left a note on top of the lifeless body of Guradian, saying the victim was a suspected military and police asset.

Guradian was the second suspected military-police informer gunned down by communist dissidents in three days' time.

At about 5 p.m. Tuesday, NPA members gunned down another suspected military and police informer in front of his wife in Barangay Palale, Bulan.

The victim, Ronald G. Golimlim, was also killed by young-looking rebels.

Teenage-looking NPA members are usually new recruits being given test missions to assassinate suspected police assets, according to the military.

In previous years, they were sent to kill police officers with whom the NPA had scores to settle.
