From InterAksyon (Aug 29): 2 cops hurt in rebel ambush in Mt. Province
Two policemen were wounded in an ambush by New People’s Army guerrillas in Sagada, Mt. Province Thursday morning.
Superintendent Davy Vicente Limmong, spokesman of the Cordillera regional police office, said the 7:40 a.m. ambush on the boundary of Barangay Saguid, Sagada and Barangay Mainit, Bontoc triggered a firefight that lasted for several minutes until the rebels withdrew as government reinforcements arrived.
The wounded policemen, who Limmong declined to name until their families are informed, were airlifted to the Baguio General Hospital in Baguio City.
