Dubbed as “Books for Peace,” the 20th Infantry (We Lead) Battalion, Philippine Army (PA) in partnership with the Department of Education ()DepEd) in Northern Samar turned over books and computers to Curry Elementary School located in an interior village of Lope de Vega, Northern Samar on Thursday.
After an hour walk in an almost four kilometers unpaved road to Brgy. Curry proper, the turnover of two sets of desktop computer complete with printers and accessories and 120 assorted books and magazines followed the short program at the

Curry village chairman Eduardo Banez and San Miguel chair Dionesio Saludario both thanked the 20th IB saying this was the very first time their respective schools received such generous gifts that will truly make a difference in their pupils’ lives.
Teachers-in-charge of the recipient-schools, Ms. Ana Rose Calawagan of Curry and Mary Flor Bocboc of San Miguel, also expressed their appreciation for the generosity in support of their pupils’ education.

The club’s commitment to provide better and accessible education especially to the poor according to him is incredibly helpful in reaching their goal in the army which is anchored in their so-called “Internal Peace and Security Plan-Bayanihan.”
This, he further said is their guide towards addressing the concerns in the barangays while performing their mandate of protecting the entire populace within their area of responsibility (AOR).
