Eastmincom commander to retire on April 13

From the Philippine News Agency (Apr 10): Eastmincom commander to retire on April 13

Lt. Gen. Jorge Segovia, commander of the Eastern Mindanao Command (Eastmincom) based in Camp Panacan here, is set to retire on April 13 upon reaching the mandatory age requirement of 56.

But Segovia’s successor has yet to be formally announced as military officials here refused to name the new Eastmincom commander.

Both Lt. Col. Lyndon Paniza, spokesperson of the 10th Infantry Division, and Major Jake Obligado, commander of the 10th Civil-Military Operation Batallion, refused to confirm the report that Segovia will be replaced by his “mistah” (Class '80) Major Gen. Ricardo Rainer Cruz, who is the current 1st Infantry Division Commander based in Zamboanga City.

Segovia was the Eastmincom chief for a year after he replaced Lt. Gen. Arthur Tabaquero on April 17, 2012.
