From ABS-CBN (Apr 15): 6 pearl farm workers abducted in Palawan
Armed men kidnapped six workers at a pearl farm in Taytay town, Palawan province Monday.
The Philippine Navy said the kidnapping happened at a pearl farm managed by Jack Branalic on Cagdanao Island.
Navy officials have yet to name the suspects behind the kidnapping.
Officials said the kidnapping could be linked to alleged extortion attempts in the area.
They said an extortion attempt at another pearl farm in San Vicente led to the burning of a boat.
