CAMP ELIAS ANGELES, Pili, Camarines Sur - Barangay officials of the interior barangay of Cabaloaon in the municipality of Guinobatan, Albay reported the beheading of Brgy Kagawad Ely Oguis to an Army Peace and Development Team (PDT) in the barangay at 0630am Monday, November 12. "We condemn the brutal beheading of Brgy Kagawad Oguis by the NPA," said Colonel Ricardo Visaya, Commander of the 901Bde in Daraga, Albay. "While he is working hard for a living for his family, the NPA rebels are extorting money from him," Visaya added. He said the report came after the PDT in the barangay was fired upon by the NPA rebels at 11:10pm of Sunday, Novemeber 11. No one was hurt during the attack. Initial investigation revealed that the victim had six gunshot wounds in his body. The PNP SOCO is already investigating the matter. "In coordination with the PNP, we have dispatched soldiers to track down the perpetrators," said Ltc Audrey Pasia, Commanding Officer of the 2nd Infantry Battalion stationed in Ligao City, Albay.  "We will assist the bereaved family of Brgy Kagawad Oguis in the filing of criminal and human rights charges against the NPA rebels."
