From the Daily Zamboanga Times (Nov 13): Abu nabbed in Labuan
A member of the Abu Sayyaf Group was arrested in Barangay Labuan last Saturday afternoon. Arrested was Jamiri Jawali Hamid alias Abu Gabby. A police report disclosed that Hamid was nabbed by government forces composed of the City Police Office’s Intelligence Section, Special Weapon and Tactics (SWAT), Zamboanga City Public Safety Company, Regional Intelligence Division and Regional Public Safety Company, during an operation around 1 p.m. Policemen held Hamid on the strength of warrant of arrest for kidnapping and serious illegal detention with case number 3551400. The warrant was issued by Judge Leo jay Principe of the Regional Trial Court Branch 1 of Isabela City. Hamid was brought to the Headquarters of the Police Regional Office-9 for tactical interrogation. He was reported to have been involved in some kidnappings in Isabela City some years ago.
