Kinundena ng Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan)-Ilocos ang inilunsad na live-fire exercises at panganganyon ng tropang militar ng US at Pilipinas sa Burgos, Ilocos Norte at Zambales noong Hunyo 15. Ang war games ay bahagi ng inilulunsad na Marine Aviation Support Activity (MASA) 2024 na sinimulan noong Hunyo 3 at magtatapos sa Hunyo 21 sa pagitan ng US Marine Corps (USMC) at papet nitong Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Pinalalabas ng imperyalistang US na ang war games, at ang buong MASA 2024, ay para sa “mutwal na pagdepensa, pagpapalakas ng relasyon at pagsasanay ng lumilitaw na mga konsepto sa aviation” sa pagitan nito at ng militar ng Pilipinas. Pinasinungalingan ito ng Bayan-Ilocos at sinabing para lamang ito sa pagpapalakas ng presensya ng US sa Pilipinas at parte ng kaniyang pang-uupat ng gyera sa China.

“Malinaw na pagyurak sa soberanya ng bansa ang pagsusunud-sunuran ni Marcos sa US,” pagdidiin pa ng grupo. Pinatutunayan rin lamang umano ni Marcos na hindi magkakaroon ng tunay na nagsasariling patakarang panlabas ang bansa habang siya ang Presidente dahil sa pagiging tuta nito ng US.

Sa nasabing war games, muling nagpaputok ang Philippine Marines ng 105MM at 155MM Howitzer na nakatutok sa karagatang sakop ng Burgos at direktang nakaharap sa Taiwan Strait. Nagpalipad rin ang US ng apat na USMC F-35B Lightning II multi-role stealth fighters sa Zambales at nagsagwa ng air strike simulation target sa katubigan.

“Marapat lamang na kundenahin ang nangyaring military drill na ito. Ang mga nagpapatuloy na military exercises at pagpapasabog na ginagawa ng US at AFP ay malinaw na nagsisilbi para kantihin at udyukin ang China, hadlangan ang mga diplomatiko at mapayapang resolusyon, pataasin ang tensyon, at magpatuloy ang sigalot,” ayon pa sa Bayan-Ilocos.

Malaking perwisyo rin umano ang war games sa kabuhayan ng mamamayan. Naiulat ang pagpapataw ng pagbabawal na mangisda sa ilang mga bayan ng Ilocos Norte at sa limang bayan sa Zambales. “Maliban rito, ganap na pagbalewala rin sa kalikasan ang mga nagpapatuloy na military exercises,” dagdag ng Bayan-Ilocos.

Hindi bababa sa 2,200 tropang Amerikano mula sa US Marine Corps, US Army, US Special Forces at US Air Force ang nasa Pilipinas para sa MASA 2024. Samantala, 975 lamang na mga Pilipinong sundalo ang lumahok dito. Isinasagawa ang mga aktibidad ng MASA 2024 sa Batanes, Ilocos Norte, Pampanga, Tarlac, Metro Manila, Cavite at Palawan.

Marami sa mga prubinsyang ito ay ang naging lunsaran rin ng mga war games ng 11,000 tropang militar ng US noong Abril hanggang Mayo sa isinagawang pinakamalaking Balikatan war games sa kasaysayan.

In the said war games, the Philippine Marines again fired 105MM and 155MM Howitzers aimed at the sea covered by Burgos and directly facing the Taiwan Strait. The US also flew four USMC F-35B Lightning II multi-role stealth fighters to Zambales and conducted an air strike simulation target in the waters.

"This military drill should be condemned. The ongoing military exercises and detonations carried out by the US and the AFP clearly serve to provoke and provoke China, hinder diplomatic and peaceful resolutions, increase tension, and continue the conflict," according to Bayan-Ilocos.

It is said that war games are also a big perversion of the people's livelihood. Fishing bans were reported in several towns in Ilocos Norte and in five towns in Zambales. "Other than this, the ongoing military exercises are also a complete disregard for nature," added Bayan-Ilocos.

At least 2,200 American troops from the US Marine Corps, US Army, US Special Forces and US Air Force are in the Philippines for MASA 2024. Meanwhile, only 975 Filipino soldiers participated in it.
