CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal - A Milisyang Bayan member surrendered with firearm in General Nakar, Quezon on Tuesday, June 27, 2023.
Joint forces of the 80th Infantry “Steadfast” Battalion, General Nakar PNP, and Quezon PNP at Sitio Marabot in Brgy. Lumutan facilitated the surrender of alias Malagmat, an MB member and a courier of KLG Narciso from the Sub-Regional Military Area 4A of the Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee. Alias Malagmat yielded one M16 assault rifle and one long magazine loaded with 23 rounds of live ammunition.
“These continuous surrenders across Quezon are a testament to the success of the collaboration between the Army, PNP, and the LGUs together with our key stakeholders in empowering communities to be insurgency-resilient. With this, we urge the remaining rebels to return to the government’s side and let us work together to bring peace and development in Quezon,” 2nd Infantry “Jungle Fighter” Division Commander Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong said in a statement.
