CAMP PERALTA, Jamindan, Capiz – An extortionist affiliated with the CPP-NPA Terrorists (CNTs) was apprehended by the joint elements of the Aklan Police Provincial Office and the 3rd Civil-Military Operations Battalion of the Army's 3rd Infantry Division in Barangay Cajilo, Makato, Aklan on June 27, 2023.

The NPA extortionist, known as "Prince Egudas" and a resident of Tapaz, Capiz, was arrested after a concerned businessman reported receiving an extortion letter from the NPA's Coronacion Chiva Waling-Waling Command. Seized from his possession were boodle money, marked bills, cellphones, and a fragmentation hand grenade.

The 3ID leadership commended the collaborative efforts of the 3rd CMO Battalion, the PNP counterparts, and the business sector in Aklan that resulted in the arrest of the NPA extortionist.

"The bravery displayed by the reporting businessman in exposing the extortion activities of the CNTs is crucial in dismantling their illegal and oppressive means of fundraising. We urge other entrepreneurs to follow suit, report any NPA extortion activities, and collaborate with government forces to put an end to these acts of terror," stated MGen Marion Sison, Commander of the 3ID.
