From the Manila Bulletin (May 5, 2023): NPA fighter killed in Kalinga clash identified (By ZALDY COMANDA)
BALBALAN, Kalinga – The New People's Army rebel killed in an encounter with the military in Barangay Poswoy here on Wednesday, May 3, has been identified.Baliwag Boccol, alias “Ka Bombo,” of Barangay Nambucayan, Tabuk City, Kalinga, was positively identified by his family.
He was a member of Squad One of the Baggas Field Guerrilla Committee, Ilocos Cordillera Regional Committee.
Boccol’s remains were taken to the Balbalan Municipal Police Station the following day and then transported to a funeral home in Tabuk City.
The Kalinga Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) regretted the death of Boccol and once again called on his comrades to surrender and live normal lives.
