From Kalinaw News Facebook Page (Feb 16. 2023): “Arms Cache” of the New People’s Army Revealed by the Surrendering NPA!
After the consecutive battles at the end of Bondoc peninsula in Quezon province that resulted in the loss of three (3) NPAs and the successive surrender of others; another NPA member disguised as Nana voluntarily surrendered at Lopez MPS, 2nd QPMFC and 85th Infantry Battalion on February 13 current year. Along with his surrender, alias ka Nana also revealed the weapons left behind and hidden by the NPA.
Some of the recovered weapons were two (2) M16 rifles, one (1) Carbine two (2) calibres. 38, magazines and bullets; and 1 improvised explosive device.
LTC JOEL R JONSON, the Commanding Officer of 85IB, expressed gratitude for the continuous pouring of heartfelt support and solidarity of the citizens in the campaign of 85IB, PNP and TF-ELCAC. The recovered weapons could still be used to commit violence and kill the lives of our innocent citizens if we neglect them. He also called for stronger unity for the complete depletion and termination of insurance in the province.
