Camp Aquino, Tarlac City – Government troops of the 70th Infantry Battalion and the Pampanga Provincial Police Office unearth the Communist terrorist group’s arms cache in the vicinity of Brgy Carmencita Floridablanca, Pampanga on June 12, 2022.

Lt. Gen. Ernesto Torres Jr., Commander of Northern Luzon Command disclosed that among the recovered items were one (1) COLT M16A1 Elisco Rifle, one COLT M653 Rifle, one short aluminum magazine, one long aluminum magazine, 70 pcs of 5.56mm ammunition, four pcs 40mm ammunitions, two pcs Rifle Grenade, four pcs cellphones, 10 pcs blasting cap with cord; seven pcs backpacks; eight pairs of rain boats; several, medical supplies and paraphernalia and CTG personal belongings.

Joint Task Group Agila Col Joseph Norwin Pasamonte confirmed that the recovered war materials were from the Weakened Guerilla Front-West, South Party Committee (SPC), and revealed that a concerned citizen tipped off the location of the war materiel to which the government troops responded immediately.


Meanwhile, Joint Task Force Kaugnay Commander Maj. Gen. Andrew Costelo commended the operating troops for the successful operation.

“The recovery of CTG weapons is a testament to the vigilance of the people and the efforts of the soldiers and the police. It proves that, together, we can rid our land of the remaining terrorist groups that hinder the peace and development of our communities in North and Central Luzon.”

Furthermore, Lt Gen Torres instructed the troops on the ground to “continue intensifying offensives to further demoralize the remnants of the CTGs leaving them with no other choice but to lay down their arms and surrender to the government.”
