BALER, Aurora – The Philippine Army’s 91st Infantry “Sinagtala” Battalion, Aurora Police Provincial Office and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Community environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR-CENRO) in Aurora province have intensified their anti-illegal logging campaigns that resulted in the confiscation of some 224 board feet illegally-cut lumbers on Friday, April 8, 2022.

In an interview on Saturday with Lt. Col. Julito B. Recto, Jr., he said that one squad of CAFGU Active Auxiliaries (CAAs) of the Philippine Army’s 91st IB led by Technical Sergeant Cesar V. Baltazar, Patrol Base Commander of Dimabuno Patrol Base together with one team of CENRO Casiguran from Sub-Office Amper Dipaculao headed by Geoffrey Librero-officer-in-charge, conducted joint anti-illegal logging campaign at Sitio Anggo, Barangay Toytoyan, Dipaculao, Aurora and discovered abandoned of three pieces Mayapis and seven pieces of Katmon illegal cut good lumber.

Recto commended the efforts of the team for their support in the government’s campaign to curb illegal forest activities amid the Covid-19 pandemic in the said town.

“All the seized forest products are deposited in DENR-CENRO office for proper disposition. Rest assured that the 91st IB and other concerned agencies will continue to intensify forest protection efforts despite the pandemic,” Recto said.
