FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija — The Commander of the 7th Infantry (KAUGNAY) Division, Philippine Army, Major General Andrew D. Costelo PA reminded the troops of the 54th Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army –now under the Operational Control of 7ID– to end the fight against communist insurgency within the deadline given by President Rodrigo Duterte, during his visit at its headquarters at Tiger Hill, Sitio Ibulao, Brgy Banguinge, Kiangan, Ifugao on February 26, 2022.
During his visit, MGen Costelo was accorded with Arrival Honors wherein a Unit Briefing and a short orientation on the history of Ifugao, and Talk to Troops immediately followed.
In his remarks, MGen Costelo urged the troops of 54IB to support the 7ID’s mission objectives, especially in its fight to end the local communist armed conflict.
“We must follow the timeline given to us by our Commander-in-Chief. Kaya naman we must intensify our Focused Military Operations. Every operation must be intelligence-driven. Let us be resourceful, kaya natin ito dahil nasa likod natin ang taumbayan at ang buong gobyerno,” said MGen Costelo.
The 54th Infantry Battalion whose mother unit is the 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army is now under the Operational Control of 7ID covering the whole province of Ifugao.
